| GOOD REPLACEMENT FOR THE 276C and Origon Series
This time Garmin managed to amaze its customers with a four in one navigator; Handheld, Marine, Automotive and bike use, the huge improvement was the screen size and the dual orientation of the display. |
The good, the bad and the ugly Good feature in this new series that it can use 2 types of batteries; the rechargeable lithium-ion (included) or 3 AA batteries (not included)
A major enhancement from the Origon series is the screen size and dual orientation, origon screen measures 3" diagonal with 240 x 400 pixels resolution where the new montana is 4" diagonal with 272 x 480 pixels resolution.
A 5 mega pixle Geo Tagging camera is lower than the expectations but remains good enough due to excellent image quality and file size, it worth mentioning that the camera was 3.2 mega pixle in the old Origon 550, and the image quality was satisfactory.

The bad thing with this new series, the touch screen works poorly, and needs a couple of firmware updates to work fine.
The ugly thing is the price 630 US $ without detailed maps, and without any kind of mounts, I think it is over priced!!
The majority of the people whom used this unit, they like it and they recommend it for others.
